The Baby Birds go 1-3 on Monday with the one win belonging to the State College Spikes who have already clinched a playoff berth. Memphis came into today needing a win or an Omaha loss. Unfortunately, neither happened and the Redbirds were eliminated. Springfield and Peoria saw their seasons end on a losing note as well.

Memphis lost to Oklahoma City 2-1 on Monday. The loss coupled with Omaha’s win knocks the Redbirds out of the playoff hunt on the very last day of the season. Brock Peterson had 2 hits including a double. Jermaine Curtis had a hit and scored the only run for Memphis. The only Memphis starter to not record a hit was Justin Christian. Eric Fornataro started and was stellar, working into the 7th inning and only allowing one run on 5 hits. Deryk Hooker relieved Fornataro and threw a scoreless 1 2/3 innings. Lee Stoppelman takes the loss while allowing the walk-off run in the 9th. Memphis finishes the season with a a 69-75 record.
