(via sammystava.mlblogs.com) After a perfect 5-0 home-stand against the Miami Marlins and the Houston Astros, the St. Louis Cardinals fell to the Chicago Cubs 3-0 in Game 1 of a four game series in Chicago, which snapped St. Louis’ five game winning streak. Thursday evening was the fourth time all season that the Cardinals have been shut out.
Cardinals’ left fielder Matt Holliday had left the game in the top of the fourth with an apparent right hamstring. Holliday had homered in his last two games before tonight.
