The St. Louis Cardinals were hoping that Joe Kelly would be able to step in and fill the void in the starting rotation. He did so in 2012 as a rookie and after some dynamite long relief appearances out of the bullpen, Kelly seemed poised to handle the pressure.
Kelly pitched alright on Saturday afternoon in the Cardinals 5-4 win over the Miami Marlins. He went six innings and allowed four earned runs on five hits and two walks and struck out four. He also gave up a pair of home runs.
Kelly seemed to handle the situation and pressure with poise, but how does he handle the pressure after challenging Twitter followers on Xbox?
Kelly sent out a tweet on Saturday night letting his followers know that he would be on Xbox and ready for virtual combat.
Getting on the xbox for some bo2 message me if you want to play, equinsu ocha 3 first 8 people for pub. Then ill invite more after.

Kelly is a unique individual and has embraced social media in a fun way. He interacts with fans daily on Twitter and is known to be a different personality in the clubhouse with his teammates as well.
As long as Kelly can continue to put together some solid efforts like the one on Saturday and improve upon it some, then Kelly can play as much Xbox with his Twitter followers as he wants.
