St. Louis Cardinals reliever Trevor Rosenthal had been nearly unhittable since April 24, the day he last allowed an earned run before Monday night’s game against the Chicago Cubs at Busch Stadium.
Rosenthal finally was touched for a run in the eighth inning by the Cubs, allowing an earned run for the first time in nearly seven weeks.
Rosenthal’s spectacular run ended on Monday night, but as I wrote over at Yahoo! Sports earlier in the day (yes, you can blame me for the jinx) Rosenthal has developed into possibly the best set-up man in all of baseball despite allowing a run to the lowly Cubs.
